I am excited to announce that the awesome Helen Duff* and I are making a show about the life of LEANORA CARRINGTON called UNLIKELY DARLINGS - which we are debuting this Christmas season at NonSuch Studios in Nottingham!
It has already been selected by The Telegraph as one of their 'FESTIVE 50: Top 50 shows to see this Christmas' and tickets are selling fast.
UNLIKELY DARLINGS will be on the 18th & 19th December at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10/£8.
UNLIKELY DARLINGS
A theatrical fairytale for the fierce hearted.
Award winning comedians and Gaulier trained physical performers Helen Duff (as seen in BBC 2’s The Mash Report / BBC 3 / HOLMES & WATSON) and Elf Lyons (as seen on BBC 3/ DAVE TV and ‘The Stand Up Sketch Show’ ITV2) unite in a beautiful and anarchic homage to the absurd life of cult surrealist Leonora Carrington.
A runaway, writer, artist and anarchist who refused to be put in a box, Carrington escaped a mental institution via submarine, married an ambassador to escape the Nazis, and made omelettes with her own hair. Helen and Elf would like to take you into her world.
Through vivid and divine mime, clowning, puppetry and more, Duff and Lyons transport the audience into the mind of one of the most eccentric visionaries of the 20th century.

* If you don't know HELEN DUFF, you really should:
Writer, comedian and actor Helen Duff is a creative whirlwind to be reckoned with. Whether acting alongside Will Ferrell in 2018 Feature Film HOLMES & WATSON, creating viral content for BBC 2’s THE MASH REPORT, or winning awards for her profoundly ridiculous solo work, Helen’s star is most certainly in the ascendant. Alongside her comedy career, Helen is the Associate Artist for Family Inclusion at Attenborough Arts Centre, working with children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, and she regularly tours with Clowns Without Borders UK, a charity that protects children’s human right to play in refugee camps worldwide.
